Junior Torpedoes Program Information
DESCRIPTION:
Junior Torpedoes are swimmers age 6 & under who are not quite ready for full swim team participation.
These are the 6 & under swimmers who can swim 10-15 yards unassisted but who are not ready to swim the full length of the pool or compete in a swim meet.
Torpedoes junior assistant coaches will help these swimmers learn the proper stroke technique while gaining excitement for the Torpedoes swim team program.
SESSIONS & COST:
Junior Torpedoes sessions will be offered as outlined below:
A skills assessment session will be held on Wednesday, May 20th and Thursday, May 21st. All Junior Torpedoes participants are required to attend one of these dates.
Swim sessions: May 26-May 28, June 1-4, June 8-11, June 15-18, June 22-25.
Each child will be assigned a ½ hour session at 8:30 a.m. or 9:00 a.m., and groups will be assigned based on ability level as determined during the skills assessment session.
Each assistant coach will instruct a maximum of 4 children.
Junior Torpedoes swim meet/awards celebration: June 26 @ 9 a.m.
The cost for Resident Junior Torpedoes is $110 per swimmer.
Non-residents pay $130.
Junior Torpedoes do not need to purchase a team suit.
REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Register by clicking the green “Register now” button at the top right of the page when registration opens. All Junior Torpedoes must register separately from swim team swimmers. There is one registration form for swim team and a different registration form for Junior Torpedoes. If you have a swimmer(s) and Junior Torpedoes, you will need to complete both forms. They are accessible by clicking the green "Register now" button.
